Embroidery!! O, Tannenbaum

I saw this incredible piece in my favorite embroidery magazine- Inspirations- and it was love at first sight! I love the colors and the design! I wanted to do it! It's very involved and like most embroidery projects I take on, I have had to learn new techniques and/or stitches. I am a novice after all! Trish Burr is the designer for this Christmas tree, and once I started pay attention I discovered she has many designs I love! Important little nugget for me to tuck away for future projects!!

The dream! (aka Trish Burr's piece)

Mine, as it currently is-

Here is the project in process... The trellis steps

1. Satin stitch

Step 2: Couching part 1

Step 3: Couching part 2

Step 4: Crossbars

Step 5: Outline

To be honest- it's kind of hard to look at this closeup! All I see are the flaws but when I step back I think it looks pretty okay. :D

Here is the finished embroidery.

I did it again! Here it is!
