While I've been posting fairly consistently on my Californica project, I didn't post many of the projects from the second half of last year. So without further ado, here are projects I haven't posted!!
This is a pelican I tried to make in the style of Chloe Redfern. I was inspired by her heron! I wish I had done half as good a job as she did, but still I display my pelican with pride!
I decided to make a trio of monogrammed pillows for my friend's family. I used Elisabetta Sforza's A Sea to Stitch Monograms to use for their initials.
I added this embroidery to a shirt of my husband's. The pattern is from Love Embroidery Magazine issue 27.
I decided that for Thanksgiving it would be nice to have an autumn-themed centerpiece, so I made Mary Corbet's acorn kaleidoscope.
A million years ago, my husband asked me to make him a hapi coat, and I made him this one using a Folkwear pattern using a band new twin sheet that our then-sister-in-law gave me. It's held up well. Anyway, I suddenly had the urge to use Jessica Long's chicadee pattern on it. Originally I thought I would do all three but decided I really liked the dramatic look of just the one!
My friend gave me an advent calendar pattern by Amanda of Wandering Threads, which I made into this little tote.
For Christmas, I made 4 little lavender sachets. My husband grew and dried the lavender, and I used Lorna Bateman's Embroidered Country Gardens for the lavender pattern and practiced my monogramming skills. Not great but improving!
I took Gimena Romero's Domestika course on Mexican embroidery and made this tote. The little nametags are from Artifox on Etsy.
I saw these cute little French hens in Inspirations and had to make them!
While this year I've been working on my Californica project, I've also found time to do a couple of other things.
My student asked me to embroidery a butterfly tattoo onto a shirt for her. So here's that!
I really enjoy Chloe Redfern's designs and decided to do her folk art bird on some Pendleton wool my mom gave me.
Whew!!
